Will you receive an email/notification if a new account is added to your XBOX?

No, you will not receive a notification or email when a new account outside your Xbox Family is added to your console, but you will receive notifications for certain actions within the family, like purchase requests. And you can also monitor account activity and manage permissions through the Xbox Family Settings app or the Microsoft account associated with the console

Try this, http://live.com and login. If you get the prompt to enter a code you should select I dont use these anymore. The systen should allow you to enter a phone number or alternate email to receive the code.
After that click on your name in the upper right corner and select account settings. Then in the middle of the page select account alias and create an alias for your account. Which is an alternate email address. Then click on notifications and click manage
email preferences. And you can select the new email to receive notifications on

According to the FAQ it will be added to your account automatically - the others will be emailed to you as codes, so I assume when the month of gold is added you'll get an email notification too

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about how to configure your account to have your son take over your account but still receive notifications regarding purchases and such.

You can configure your son's personal email to be the primary alias so that he can now sign in to your account using his email, as well as receive most notifications there, however, you will most likely still receive email to your email if it belongs to
a Microsoft Domain [Outlook, Hotmail, MSN, etc]. Also, keep in mind that if you do have an email with a Microsoft Domain, and you remove it, that email will be lost forever.

You should, however, be able to prevent notifications of these email or even send the email directly towards your Junk section from inside the email itself.

Just to confirm, your email address is a 3rd party email address?

When was the last time you had access to your account?

I believe that your email address was removed somehow from your original account that's why you were asked by the system to create with a new account using it.

Please check your emails if you received a notification regarding the changes of your account information.
