    You can now start a new party via Game Bar by clicking the Start a new chat Icon to the right of the Search to Add Players functions and inviting players to party :)

    Can't Get Party Invites on Console Companion

    I believe they're remove Party from the companion app and moving it to the Xbox Game Bar (Win+G). Once you open Game Bar be sure to check if the option to receive Xbox One party/game invites is turned on.

    To start a party on Game Bar, you'll have to create a new message and add friends in it and click on the Headset icon on the top right.

    The party chat function is still relatively new for the app. Currently on XBOX SERVER STATUS it says the xbox app has outages.

    Game bar can only record games and some applications, but only if they are instructed to be 'remembered as games'.

    It can't record the Windows desktop. The likely reason for this omission is due to other third party apps forfilling this function like OBS or free apps from dedicated graphics cards producers.

    Party chat on Windows/Xbox App still works. An alternative is the Xbox game bar Party.

    To bring up the Xbox game bar, Hold the Windows button and Press "G"

    From there you will be able to initiate a Party and Much more!
