Will there be a gamertag reset like there was in the past years?

My old gamertag is still associated with my Microsoft account and Xbox Live Online account.
I have not not subscribed to Xbox Live Gold since July 2015.
There is a resubscribe option but it take me to a Game Pass Core sign up page.
Can I still use my old Gamertag on Xbox X?

What about the gamertags that are permanently banned, will they get freed up after 5years?

No. Mass resets were discontinued a while ago. If a person doesn't sign into their Xbox account within 5 years, the gamertag will be freed up. If they don't sign into their Microsoft account within 2 years, that will close the account and should free up the tag as well. Otherwise, with the system allowing multiple people to use the same tag now, it may be hard to get some of those gamertags.

Basically it means they don't have a regular schedule for resetting gamertags. The last time they reset gamertags was a few years ago when they reset gamertags from the original Xbox service after that service was discontinued. So it's possible they won't
reset 360 gamertags for years.

I also still 3 star for the past two years with my gamertag and want to know why like what I'm I doing wrong in playing my games.
