Will the Xbox Series S in any way be able to access/play physical media?

I have a lot of physical discs and I would like to ask if there are any plans to transfer the physical copies of games to digital in the near future. If not, will there be any kind of support for external disc drives in anyway (utilizing the front or back
USB port)? I'd like to upgrade but my budget doesn't allow me to get the Series X and I have most of my library on disc.

Thank you for reaching out to the forum. No, you will not in any way be able to use or transfer any games from physical disc releases to the Series S.

Unfortunately, you can't play the games disc version on the Xbox Series S since it doesn't support physical disc-based media. Otherwise you will need to purchase the digital version of Forza horizon 4 to play it on the Xbox Series S.

Yes. Game progress is saved the same way from the disc than from a digital game either on the cloud or on the hard disk drive.

*Keep in Xbox Series S doesn't support physical disc-based media. The Xbox Series X is Microsoft's only next-generation console with an optical disc-drive.

No. Since you bought a physical disc, you would not be able to play it on a Series S.
