Will the next xbox have a disk drive?

We can't really say. This is largely a community forum, you won't get an official response from Microsoft to your question.

I believe physical media still has it's place in the console gaming world. Even if disc based games were to stay, digital downloads are the in-thing these days. To the point that even owning the disc does not guarantee you could keep playing your disc based games forever. Many games need updates, some are not even playable until you connect to the online service.

The Series X can read 100GB Blu-ray discs, but I don't think any publisher has shipped a game on these discs yet. Even 100GB discs aren't big enough for the latest games.

It's been much of a problem for me. Most of gaming is on PC and PC gaming hasn't had games released on discs for over 10 years now.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console right next to the disk drive, while the Bind button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disk drive, with a symbol that looks like “)))” on it.

If the next xbox uses blu ray disks there will be no more need for disk changing. When the original xbox 360 launched the battle between HD DVD and Blu Ray was still going on. When HD DVD lost, Xbox discontinued that disk drive.

As for the noise, if you install the disk to the hard drive there is no noise.

It's just a rumor ! I think the next generation have a disk drive because the best 4K Quality for movie is from Blu-ray 4K disk. The digital 4K version of movie don't have the same quality.

Okay, now I know what the problem is with hard disk drive.
