Will the new gamertag format be supported by Discord too?

The new system was based on the Discord naming system so I'd hope they'd support it. Your GT is tied to your email/acct so I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Now if MS would allow an official Discord app on the Xbox I'd be super happy.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the new Xbox gamertag system is (inspired by) already similar to Discord, saying that, if you connect your Xbox profile to Discord, you'd still be able to choose the username you prefer but the prefixes will be different
as this is randomly generated by xbox and discord respectively. I believe, if you really want the same username in Discord as your Xbox gamertag, you can subscribe to Discord Nitro to change your prefix to match your gamertag, given that no one has taken that
prefex yet.

No I meant if the suffix of the gamertag will disappear on Discord too when you view someone's profile. Still, thanks for your answer.

It depends on if the game is already capable of supporting the "new" Gamertag format.

Xbox changed the Gamertag system a few months ago, to allow multiple people to have the "same" Gamertag, similar to names on Discord or Battle.net, by adding a number to it.

Newer games, that already support the new Gamertag format, will only show your new name, without the #number to your friends.

Older games, that do not support the new Gamertag format, will show your old Gamertag for a while.

yeah i tried too change it but it was unavailable and then tried too find the gamertag by searching a friend. But i found the new gamertag thing then i can change my gamertag too CrystalEdits with a number @ the
end like discord.
