Will my xbox profile be safe after deleting an alias?

Your profile will remain as usual, it will not undergo any changes, just make sure you have already set another email as your main alias before deleting the old one.

Keep in mind that this change may take 48 hours to be reflected in the system.

I'm confused about this part.
"Note The email address that you enter can't already be in use as a Microsoft account alias."

That means I can't for example create a new outlook email address and attach it as the primary alias for my current Xbox Live gamertag? And if that's not possible for example and instead I attach a non Microsoft email address, what if I then delete my Microsoft
Account? It says that if I request deletion I have to wait 60 days.

If after 60 days my Microsoft Account and live.co.uk email gets deleted will I be able to login to my Xbox Live account using the new email address that is changed for it as the primary alias? This part I am confused and need some clarity before I decide to
proceed.

Because if the old existing Microsoft Account is still somehow linked with my Xbox Live Game profile and I then delete it and this erases the Xbox Live Gamertag+profile this will be a disaster.

Emails aliases take a few months to become free again, even after an account or alias has been deleted. They do send email warnings of an account deletion to the address, but because you hadn't signed in for a while, they presumed it was dormant.

You can wait 90 days to try and re-add the alias to a new account, but either way, any previous Xbox profile information cannot be transferred to it. Even if the email alias is the same. All Xbox account profile data (achievements, purchases etc.) are related to an account, not an address.

There is no way of getting this back... sorry.

Based on that I think I'm out of luck since my current email is already an alias for an unused profile. If I read it correctly, removing my current email as the alias for the unused profile would delete my email from microsofts servers, and you're unable
to use an email as an alias if it's already an alias for a profile. So the profile randomly associated with my email put a rock in the whole thing I think. Sigh, I think it's been many years since I've gotten to see emails from Xbox but as long as I can sign
in I guess there's no harm. Thanks for the replies I really appreciate it.

Delete Profile Safely:

Go to Settings, and then select System.

Select Storage.

Select All Devices.

Select Gamer Profiles.

Select the gamertag that you want to delete.

Select Delete.

Select Delete Profile Only.*

after all devices ther was no option for gamer profiles. so in the end i couldnt delete my gamer profile
