    Will I have to re-download games when changing subscriptions


    Hi All,

    I am looking to change from a ultimate game pass to a pc game pass. To do this I have to wait for my subscription to end and buy a new pc one.

    So my question is when I cancel and get the new subscription will I have to re-download the games to the pc in order to play them again and will this effect my in game progress?

    Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

    No. It won't effect the games themselves.

    I have an active subscription. When I try and load it, the screen just comes up with a box saying the game failed to load. Please try and download again. Deleting the game and re downloading doesn't seem to help.

    Took a different approach this morning doing 2 things, not sure which one worked tho...

    1. changed the payment method on my xbox live gold subscription

    2. signed up for 14 day free trial of xbox game pass.

    looks like the change to subscription caused Fortnight to re-check and download the subscription details.

    Did your Gold subscription expire at any time?
    Yes multiple times, but when i renew my gold, the games I have previously obtained via games with gold are still there and able to be played and re downloaded.

    Did you try downloading the game to a USB flash drive? Just press A on "change storage device" when re-downloading the game again.
