    Will Dolby Atmos on Xbox ever be fixed?


    I realize this applies to such a small subset of users and is somewhat technical, but there are Microsoft support pages with over a hundred pages of responses and no acknowledgement at all by the Xbox team that they even recognize this issue.

    The issue is that when running an HDMI 2.1 cable from my Xbox to my TV (LG G1 77") and then a second HDMI cable over eArc for the audio, there is a several HUNDRED millisecond delay when playing Dolby Atmos content on Xbox.

    This delay is evident on the home screen when moving the selection box between apps, it's noticeable in games like Halo Infinite where gunshots fire almost half a second late, and it's been a persistent issue since the launch of the Series X.

    The sinking feeling in my gut tells me that this issue is hardware related and unresolvable and that's why Microsoft refuses to acknowledge it, but I figure it can't hurt to throw my hat in the ring and voice my frustration here, as well as the feedback app, and on other locations online. Please-- someone at Xbox-- tell us you see us. I'm not asking for the issue to be resolved tomorrow-- I want to see it acknowledged that it exists.

    Hi RomiDumitru,

    *maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

    Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

    No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

    I don't know if is intentional.

    Dolby Atmos not working on the Disney plus app on Xbox

    I have a Samsung Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos. All works fine on the Xbox One X with Netflix, Amazon Prime, gaming and the Dolby Atmos app. Doesn't work with the Disney Plus app though. Sound isn't coming through the rear speakers and sounds very ordinary.
    I go and do the Atmos tests and demos on the Dolby Atmos Xbox app and they work and sound awesome.

    I've googled around and apparently lots of people are having the same issue with the app. Hope they fix it soon as I was planning on watching the Star Wars trilogy in 4K and Atmos. I'll wait until they fix it.

    I've spoken to Dolby Laboratories. And they have confirmed that Xbox have updated the way the xbox outputs dolby atmos. Apparently xbox and dolby are working on a fix. And multi in is apparently still atmos. But a simpler form of it. I have a denon avr-x3600h
    7.4.2 set up. And can defo hear the helicopter above in Cod MW

    I have a sony x9005f wtih sonos beam gen 2 if i play straight from the tv the beam sees the dolby atmos sound, but if i am playing my xbox series x i get only dolby digital dts en 5.1 uncompressed. I dont see the option for dolby atmos. How can i fix this?
