Will an MSI G27C4 E2 monitor and an Xbox series S be able to run 120fps paired together?

I'm having trouble pairing these 2 so fortnite will run at 120fps. The monitor is is set at 120hz the Xbox is set 120hz at 1080p but the game stays on 60fps, no setting shows up under video and not sure if I maybe have the wrong monitor or a setting I'm not understanding? Thanks for any help

Given the alleged 165 Hz refresh rate, I would have my doubts, as this monitor has been over clock which often results in compatibility problems with Xbox and other consumer devices that use standard VESA timings.

You would have to ask their customer service about anything that they have done in regards to testing for Xbox compatibility

Well I appreciate your quick reply. Disappointing as I think you've confirmed it isn't going to work. I've spent some time playing with every setting and can't get it to work so I'll have to do some research on another monitor. Thank you again very much for the reply

the series consoles are fussy on monitors, 144hz but must support 120 also. but the majority of games wont run 120fps only a select few on the s. also get a monitor with freesync as that will help when frames drop alot which they will.

Series s doesn't run at 120fps

You are thinking of 1440p at 144hz Vvr with Ray tracing off

Only ps5 (same hardware on digital or disk)

And Xbox series x

And in the reviews it says its worked for people on both xbox series x and ps5 for 1440p 120hz, it gives me the option but when i click it, it just goes back to 60hz 1440p
