Wifi card fing up after leaving console in sleep mode overnight

really? i never see an update ever. If you leave it in standby mode it updates everything overnight while you sleep. are you turning it completely off all the time?

Sorry to hear it. When the console is off (in Instant On mode) it will download at a slower speed than when it is left on. Also, use of the internet on other devices will slow the amount of loading that can be done.

What I do when installing games is leave them paused during the day and then make sure that I leave the console on and the game(s) downloading overnight when everyone is sleeping and the internet will not be used should speed up the install process.

It's perfectly normal.

Your console is in instant-on mode.

This mode is similar to a PCs sleep mode so that the console can wake up quicker.

What you need to do is go into the settings app, find the power on settings and switch the console to energy saving mode.

This mode will fully shut down the console. the trade off is that it takes longer to boot the console up and game updates wont download overnight.

I should also add, this problem doesn't occur each time I turn it off. It seems to occur after it has been in sleep mode for a while, like overnight.

This happens with me when I want to update/install games. As CT 5161 Recon said it can't be completely powered off and needs to be on or in sleep mode. Again, like CT 5161 Recon said, it is a good idea to leave your xbox on overnight.
