Wi-Fi working, but not working on XBOX.

I’m using an Xbox series X.

So I’ve been having an issue for quite a while and it’s really bothered me tonight. I tried to get onto Minecraft (which I have access to via the gamepass) but it didn’t let me on because it said I had to renew the subscription. I went onto the subscription owners account and now whenever I press on gamepass it tells me I’m not connected to the internet. I go to WiFi - test the WiFi - and it’s fine. (I’ve tried both wired and wireless connection) my wireless connection has a ping of 22 since last time I checked a few minutes ago.

I’ve also had multiple issues with multiplayer (when playing Fortnite, my character will freeze while the game resumes around me for minutes at a time) and Minecraft just point blank refuses to connect. It’s getting really tiring. Has anyone got tips?

    :)

Wi-Fi working, but not working on XBOX.

Hello Faith, I am so sorry that you're experiencing this issue. Down below are some steps that can help fix this issue.

Step 1: preforming a power cycle reset:

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
    2. Restart your console. Press and hold the Xbox button  in the center of your controller to open the Power Center. Select Restart console and then select Restart. (If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button  on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button  on the console again to restart.)
    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    5. Test your connection again (Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection). If the connection test is not successful, continue to the next step.
    Step 2: Check network cable:

    1. Unplug the network cable from the back of your console.
    2. Inspect the cable’s connector and the console socket to make sure that they are clean and free of debris.
    3. Plug it back in, making sure it clicks into place.
    4. Follow the network cable to your router, modem, or gateway and unplug it.
    5. Inspect the cable’s connector and the socket of the router, modem, or gateway socket to make sure that they are clean and free of debris. Do one of the following (depending on your network hardware):
      • Router or gateway: Plug the network cable into a different port. Make sure the cable clicks into place.
      • Modem: Plug the network cable back into the modem. Make sure the cable clicks into place.
    6. Verify that all power cables are firmly seated in the modem, gateway, or router and that all networking devices are powered on.
    7. Test your connection again (Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection). If the connection test is not successful, continue to the next step.
    Step 3: Try a direct-to-modem connection:

    1. your console (leave the other end of this cable plugged into your console).
    2. On your modem, unplug the network cable that connects the modem to your router. At this point, neither the console nor the modem should be connected to the router.
    3. Now connect your console directly to your modem (use the same cable that was connecting your console to your router).
    4. Press and hold the Xbox button  on the console for a minimum of five seconds to turn off the console.
    5. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem.
    6. After one minute, plug the modem back in and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    7. Turn on the console.
    8. Test your connection again (Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection).
Step 4: if these steps don't help with this issue, the problem might be coming from your internet provider.

Xbox series s unplayable due to lagging

If that worked would that prove that the Wi-Fi receiver in the Xbox is at fault ?

As my Xbox series x and Xbox one connect and play perfectly online via the same Wi-Fi

I see, if it works on hotspot but not your Wi-Fi then it is network related.

Please try to check the network speed when connected to Wi-Fi and compare it to hotspot.
