    First thing to try, go to settings/ network/ network settings/advanced settings/alternate MAC address, select clear and then restart.

    if that does nothing then remove the mains power to your modem/router for a couple of minutes. Power up again and try your connection.

    Is it over Wi-fi or is it a LAN connection? If it's over wi-fi speeds will definitely vary.

    If you are attempting to connect to wi-fi, you need the password for that wi-fi. If you are trying to connect to wi-fi that is not password protected, you need to have access to the modem itself, as you need to reset the modem or the xbox will not recognize
    it.

    you might need to connect 1 of your Xbox's to Wi-Fi and the other thought a wired connection or get a better Wi-Fi router.
