Why’s my Xbox keep freezing when redeeming codes?

If yes, let's try to troubleshoot your Xbox. First power cycle your device:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

By the way, are you using an insider build / beta OS in your device?

I can’t even login online as I don’t know the password but can’t even reset it as don’t have the gmail account anymore so it’s a long day for me unless there’s any other options lol?

Just log in on the website and find where u can enter the code on there because for some reason my Xbox dose this when I buy code cheap instead of buying there over priced games and subscriptions

Thanks 👍 twice I tried redeeming a code (3 months GPU) and both times my console froze. I was worried that after my initial attempt it would reject my code saying it had already been used! Anyway, I took your advice and redeemed it here online. It’s gone through now.
