Why Xbox One controllers break so easily

I have all my original Xbox one Controllers which are over 3yrs old and not problems that I used all the time for several years and not the grandkids use them. I also have a launch day elite controller with no problems either and I use this one daily for
3 to 5 hours at a time.

Xbox One controllers are obviously cheaply designed. I've broken two of them, one broke within a year and it's replacement broke within 6 months. I just don't understand this drop in quality over the Xbox 360. All my 360 controllers still work, save a dead
charge pack or two, and they have seen extensive, rage-fueled use. The RB/LB buttons on those survived Dark Souls I & II, while the ones on an Xbox One controller broke while navigation a menu. I came up with the perfect remedy for this and
bought a Playstation 4.

I bought my X1 and a 2nd controller during a BF sale 2 years ago. The controller that came with the console, despite occasionally drifting and the D pad jumps 3 spaces when you only want it to go one still works.

I decided just a few weeks ago to use the New in the box spare I bougt some 2 years ago and to my surprise.. The D pad jumps 3 spaces, the X button you have to press hard or it will not function and it drifts.

Far too late to return it, but it's the gamble (50/50 in my case)) you take when buying things these days. I regret not opening the spare controller and testing it as soon as I got it.

I would like to know why all of the xbox one controllers that make it up here to alaska break so easily and why is it always the LB that breaks??????????????????????

im using my controllers everyday more then most and have never had an issue and same goes for everyone i know maybe your too rough on them or just really unlucky either way i hope you get it sorted out

The Xbox One Controllers are a little on the cheap side. I'm on failing number 2 Controller in under 3 years. This current Controller has a Left Stick Drift every now and then and will be replaced soon.

It would be nice if Controllers could be built with a little more quality. I'm not going to sweat it out too much, I went through 5 Controllers on my Xbox 360 in 8 plus years. Having the Controller $10 more is a little lame though.

even if the solder joints break, they can still make contact and it can work. But for those who see frequent "disconnects" of their controller, this is likely the cause.
