Why Xbox One controllers break so easily

Well, seems like I have now joined the thumb stick drift club. Such a shame considering how great the 360 controllers have been for me. I'm also seeing an alarming number of random disconnects I can't quite explain.

  2. "The Xbox One Controllers are a little on the cheap side."

I, luckily, have had the exact opposite experience. I have 4 Xbox One consoles. These controllers have been great and very well made. One of my sons is death on a controller. He tore through a ton of 360 controllers, PC controllers, PS3 controllers,
and even a PS4 controller. Stick drift and some buttons not working. On the Xbox One he is still on his original from 2014. My 2013 controller is great and works perfect despite my 3 year old accidentally pulling it off the desk a few times recently. And
i have to say that I have not heard anyone i know say they have controller problems on Xbox One which has not been the case with other consoles. Just lucky I guess.

One thing to note, even if this breakage happens, the controller can still work. If you have ever seen the controller randomly reboot or disconnect, though, this is the likely cause.

Why Xbox One controllers break so easily

My Xbox 1 Day One console with Kinect's controller is still working perfectly fine, went to the Xbox 1 midnight launch in NZ. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. But I do think the build quality and materials feel more fragile than the Xbox 360 controller.
It's more sleeker than the Xbox 360 controller and weighs a lot less too.

  6. ...........

Hello everyone Why Xbox One controllers break so easily :)

    ...........

From my experience, I am giving the Xbox 360 controller the award superior build / design when it comes to durability.

    ............

With that being said, my opinion about the Xbox One controller is that they are good, but no where near as tough as the Xbox 360 controllers

    ............

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone Why Xbox One controllers break so easily :)

  7. My first Xbox One controller (that came with the console) was definitely on the cheap side compared to all of my Xbox 360s.

However, my Titanfall controller seems better built than my first, and still handles and responds as well as the first day I bought it.

My Elite controller was money well spent. I've dropped it a few times, and no problems whatsoever. Quite frankly, I think it's an awesome controller.

Xbox 360 controllers are more durable. Xbox 1 controllers are much lighter and sleeker. Xbox 1 Elite is overpriced.

Xbox 360 controllers definitely had a better build quality, but they are no where near as sleek as the new ones.

I'm still using the same 2 controllers since launch, I've had stick drift a couple times but it went away and they still work like new.

  11. This explains when my X1 controller fails to connect, that a little shacking resolves the problem.

    Good to know OP, thanks!

My solution is going to be to desolate the pin headers and replace them with wire on both controllers. This will permanently resolve the problem.

  13. Why Xbox One controllers break so easily

I have a controller stop working literally every month.. Im not buying another one and will sell the system. Didnt have this problem with 360 controllers and there is absolutely no reason why they shouldnt be backwards compatible as they are the same thing..

It's not rocket science, they're made out of plastic. Yeah that overpriced Elite gimmick controller, that's made out of plastic too. Why do you think Microsoft for Americans, only provide a 90 day warranty. Australian, New Zealand,
and UK governments offer longer warranty due to the respective countries consumer rights legislation.

I've had the same problem, as well. I've owned Nintendo 64 controllers (3) since 1998 and they still work perfectly. I still use them to this day when I have N64 parties.

My Xbox one controllers (2) both show wear problems. One of them no longer reacts when I press the left bumper (I guess I used my torch and pyromancy spells too much in Dark Souls 3????). That sucks.

It is unacceptable that a controller that's been used for almost 20 years is in better shape than a newer controller that's been used for just 2 years.

    Please provide a quality service.
