    Why would I lose storage on my Xbox One S?


    I have a 1tb Xbox One S. Recently it changed the size of the storage and I am unsure why. I used to have around 900GB for storage after console software took up some. After having an issue with an update never going, I power cycled it. I had to redownload the whole game I was attempting to update. Today I noticed that my storage was full because I now only have like 780GB for storage. Does anyone know why it would do that or am I looking at replacing the hard drive soon?

    I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues with your console's storage.

    Although unusual, if the game you had problems updating got corrupted, it's possible the previous installation could still be taking up internal storage space. May I ask If you already tried performing a complete factory reset on your console?

    If you're connected to Xbox LIVE, all of your save games are automatically synced to cloud storage, so there is no possibility of you losing them. I understand what your saying though, and it would be very useful to see all of the available storage, and
    manage it ourselves.

    As I understand it, there will be more functionality as they update the Xbox One's operating system/s.

    Ok did you put it in an internal memory or storage card or external usb drive

    If external that would be why

    You can only put it in an internal memory or storage card

    Now I'd you are saying you have a Xbox one S

    That isn't a series s

    Series consoles.are different and are not considered Xbox one nor is it part of the name

    Also any games.that are meant for the series consoles has to be on storage card or.internal memory

    Xbox one games works regardless of Xbox one s or og or one x

    And you can use any storage

    But for Xbox series consoles there is only s or x not one s/x

    And only games on optimized nvme or the Xbox nvme storage card will download the series version

    If you put it on external it would only download the Xbox one as you arent running thr optimized nvme

    But my Xbox is not out of storage at all, there is approximately 96% storage available. So, why doesn’t Microsoft fix this unlisted error with one of it’s annoying updates?

    Another thing, how do I KNOW that our Minecraft worlds are in fact backed up so that we don’t lose them again?

    Xbox Series S - can it be extended with external usb BD drive - to be backward compatible?

    Pljs a external drive would be more then the cost difference

    An external dvd drive is 139 bucks at least so assuming 200 bucks coat you lose on ram storage etc

    The s series is also designed specifically for non bluray

    One when you get a download from xbox it will notice the s series and only give you the nessary files for it

    Like 1440p
