Why won't my Xbox connect wirelessly all of a sudden?

Hi All

So suddenly my Xbox 360 will not connect wirelessly. It says NETWORK FAILED - INTERNET BLOCKED - XBOX LIVE BLOCKED.

I have tried all steps available (clearing cache, factory resetting network setting, re-starting my modem and console etc...) It works fine hardwired but where I need to place it in my home there is no ethernet connection avail. Settings show it can find and connect to the LAN but cannot get out to the internet. The network wifi is fine although out the house and xbox says wireless signal is strong. Router has been checked and has not blocked anything. At this point I am at a loss and a lot of forums show this is common but never any fixes. What is going on Microsoft???

update: I plugged in a wired connection and it gave instant connectivity everything is up and running but this isn't a permanent solution, I'd like to know why it all of a sudden won't connect wirelessly

Sorry to hear about the issue. To further isolate the issue, could you try to connect to a different network? You could use your mobile data hotspot.

My Xbox won't connect nethjer and its been like this for almost 2 weeks now all of a sudden

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

" 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

If that didn't work, please check if it's happening with other network connection as well such as a mobile hotspot.

Does your desktop have bluetooth built in? If not then that's why it won't connect wirelessly, if it is charged via USB try connecting it using that, far from ideal but certainly a short term solution.
