Why won’t my Xbox 1S turn on?

I took it to a friends, used their power cable and it worked turned on, no problem. I bought a new power cable which worked at my friend’s house but not when I brought it home. Please help.

Don't use a power board.

Try a different power wall socket.

Ensure the power cable is firmly connected to the console.

If the console works at your friends place but not yours then there must be electrical issue that needs resolving at your place, not a console issue.

Do you have the original Xbox One with the external power supply, or the Xbox One S or One X with an internal power supply?

If you have the original Xbox One, it may be that the power supply is the issue and needs to be replaced. You will need to search for one from a game retailer or online.

If you have the newer models, then unfortunately you will need to get it serviced through Microsoft device support.
