Why won't my Subnautica update?

Just to confirm, do you own the game? or you played the game with Game Pass before?

I ask this because the game has been removed from the game pass library

Also, did you already leave the insider program related to the Subnautica preview?

**By the way, exist the possibility that you're using the latest update (I personally don't have the game. I can't confirm that)

If you can, please ask a friend to check the version in their console to see if its the same version or not

I went to the Windows Store page and followed the links for the developer website. The forums seem to have a topic on sync issues that you might find helpful under consoles topic. It appears the Xbox version of Subnautica was just update in May, you can
find the link below. There is information in the forum thread to get in contact with the developers if you're still having issues with sync issues.

We have split your reply on the original post in order to tailor our support to you.

It is understood that the issue being experienced is that Subnautica is not updating on your Xbox One console.

Our suggestion in case it has not been attempted would be to perform a
soft factory reset while keeping games and apps:

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

Note: This will remove profiles, so be sure to keep all information for signing into any/all accounts.

This was the step mentioned by XBF Nestor within the original post, if this does not work then a full factory reset would be recommended.

Thanks for replying to keep us updated. When it comes to performing a soft factory reset, it is possible that there is something potentially corrupting your installation that is on the OS of the system and wouldn't necessarily cause issues with other downloads,
so you can feel confident that this should alleviate the issue.

To add to what XBF Nestor posted, I would also recommend that you uninstall the game prior to the reset for the best results. Also, if you had recently updated the console, its possible that it didn't get installed correctly or fully and the reset will also
take care of anything associated with that eventuality. If you haven't received an update lately, then you may have one that is hung up. A download not going through correctly can sometimes indicate that.

To see if there’s an update available:

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > System >
   Updates.
3. If there are any updates, they’ll appear in the left menu. If not, you'll see "No console update available."

In regards to your Early Access to Subnautica and the license not getting transferred correctly, its a slim possibility but not likely and (again) a reset of the console should clear that up as well.

Go ahead and give that reset (that keeps the games & apps) a try and please let us know the results.

The next step we suggest is (to narrow down the original problem) to perform a reset of the console since
the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!
