Why won't Minecraft for windows install?

I have been trying to install Minecraft for windows on my pc for the past 3 hours now and it has been stuck on Downloading 96.86 MB / 96.86 MB for about 30 minutes. It seems like its having a hard time connecting to my SSD. Anyway I can fix this?

Is it an issue when even downloading stuff from the Microsoft store is taking as long and doing the same thing? It's been on 3.96MB for about 10 minutes. It seems that whenever I pause it then unpause, it seems to download faster. Same thing happens in the Minecraft launcher even after downloading gaming services and doing the powershell commands and yes I restarted my pc.

That's odd. To further isolate the issue, could you please try switching your PC's network connection from wireless to wired or vice versa? If you have a different internet source like mobile data hotspot, it would also be best to try it on.

Got it. I appreciate your efforts. Let's instead reinstall your Gaming Services app:
Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
Restart your device and try to install the game again.

I have the latest version of windows 10 and my Wi-Fi works just fine but I went ahead and tried restarting my pc and router including airplane mode. And simply restarting my PC doesn't help, and neither did following the instructions provided. It has now increased to 358.45 MB / 358.45 MB and even though im installing the game little activity is being shown on my SSD according to task manager. But I know that my SSD works just fine do to the fact that it can install and uninstall other games including Minecraft java just fine.

Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11? Be sure to install all available updates on your Windows and Microsoft Store.

Also, simply restart your computer and see if the download process resumes.
Do the same with your router/modem. Turn it off, unplug its power source and wait few minutes before turning it back on.

If it doesn't work, try to turn on Airplane mode and wait few minutes before turning it back off. You could as well try connecting your PC to a different network.
