    Why won’t Minecraft allow multiplayer even with all the correct settings on Microsoft account?


    I’m trying to playing Minecraft with a friend, but I cannot invite my friend because Minecraft tells me that my Microsoft account settings don’t allow for multiplayer. After using Microsoft Answers and getting to the settings, all settings that need to be active and allowed for multiplayer are indeed active and allowed. But I still can’t invite other players to Minecraft.

    Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

    I understand you need assistance with your Privacy Settings. Kindly double-check it and make sure that all settings under the Privacy tab and Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety are set to "Allow" or "Everyone". It should be like the screenshot below.

    Also, make sure to set these settings to "Allow" or "Everyone".

    - You can see and upload community creations

    - You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

    - Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

    Additionally, if you're playing on an Xbox console, make sure that you have an active Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate.

    - Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

    I’m sorry that didn’t work for you but if you already changed your Privacy Settings and it still doesn’t work, what I can recommend is to contact Mojang Support through this link; https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/requests/new for further assistance.

    Hi Oliver,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you are having issues playing multiplayer in Minecraft and you are receiving an error message.

    This error usually appears when your Xbox permissions are not configured properly.

    1. Go to https://account.xbox.com/settings

    2. Login using your Microsoft account with Minecraft.

    (if it doesn't say it and directs you to the website, make sure you're signed in using the correct email)

    Note: If you don't have an Xbox account, it will ask you to make one, so make any account.

    3. If you scroll down, under your username and Avatar it should say "Xbox one/windows 10 online safety" click on that

    4. Scroll down until you see "You can join multiplayer games" allow or block,

    Select "Allow" to enable multiplayer in your account

    Relaunch Minecraft and you should be able to join any multiplayer server.

    Once done, you may sign back in to Minecraft and should be able to play multiplayer.

    Important: If you just recently configured this setting, please allow at least few hours for the new settings to reflect to all Microsoft servers. You may try to sign out and sign back in to your Minecraft to resync your profile.
