    Why won't Microsoft allow some crucial developer updates on its games?!?


    I'm subscribed to XGP for PC and i've seen this before a couple of times on some games. They were very badly optimized to the point the gaming experience became very unpleasant. Just yesterday i downloaded Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice only to play half
    the game and end up giving up at the beach chapter cause my GPU won't go above 60-70% giving me only 40-50 fps. After a bit of digging i found out this was patched by the Devs and the update was allowed on Steam but not in here. Same thing for Blair Witch
    Project. What's going on?

    Do these developers not pay attention to their gamers?

    So you basically just want developers to make games for you.

    Plenty of free roam & open world games out there.Plenty of games with good customisation options out there.etc. etc.

    You didn't like Shadow of War,fine but that's just YOUR opinion.

    co-op is not crucial nowadays.It's nice to have in some games,depends on the game,but it certainly isn't crucial.

    If you want all the things you mentioned then why not start your own development team & make your own game?

    I have the same question, plus why is there no description you can see saying what is being done in the update? When games update on my phone I get at least some basic info on what the update is for. Why doesn’t Xbox do something similar? (ie. bug
    fix, One X enhancement, etc)
    It is at the discretion of the developer and Microsoft if they choose to disclose what a update is adding or improves. Sometimes it will mention it, some times it won't.

    RUMOR: X1 to allow self publishing?

    Microsoft already allows self publishers though its Indie games section, yet developers complain that it is filled with Minecraft clones and Avatar games. What do they/you think will happen the XBLA platform if self publishing is allowed?

    Also,

    Take the developer of DayZ. The reason he won't consider a release on the ONE is because he anticipates having to constantly patch the game and the cost would be prohibitive. My take: Release a game that doesn't require constant updates to fix bugs that
    should be fixed before release.

    Developers see self publishing as way to release unfinished games.

    I don't see self publishing a good thing.

    What exactly is "boosting" and can you get banned for boosting?

    I was of the understanding that its not the mechanics but whether or not the developer allowed it.
