Why will Xbox Series X not see my expansion card?

Hi,

There are two drives, with some different capacity options

Seagate Xbox Series X|S Expansion Card

Hi,

Both Series X/S games and Xbox One games that been optimised (I'm British) for Series X/S must be installed on either the internal storage or the expansion card. They can not be run from a USB connected storage device. My optimised Series X/S Xbox One games
were moved to my Expansion card during their update.

I am sorry but the Expansion card won't work for that.

I am not sure why it said to connect it to a PC, since it is not possible.

Xbox Series X|S games can not be run from USB storage devices. These drives are too slow for Series X|S games, regardless of them being on Game Pass or not.

Series X|S games can only be played on either the Internal SSD, a Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S or the WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox

Based on your description, it seems that you should be experiencing an issue where Xbox is not recognizing your expansion card.



You can try the following steps:

1.Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage.

2.If you don’t see the Storage Expansion Card listed, remove the card from the back of the console, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the card firmly into the Storage expansion slot.

3.If you don’t see the Storage Expansion Card in the storage devices page after 30 seconds, remove the card, restart the console, then insert the card again.
