why will microsoft not send me a reset password email

im using a gmail in my account so it should show up there but i never get any email when i click reset password to get the email and now im locked out of my minecraft untill they review this question and please help me fix it.

Please be informed that a password reset email will be sent to one of your security proofs like phone number or alternate email address you setup on your account security information. It’s a different email or phone from your primary email address or aliases.

Really? I went to the link they gave me and pushed send email password reset to my other email. It takes 2-3 weeks for them just to send a password reset link?? Thats crazy.

Don't feel bad. I am in the same situation. I have an alternate email address (that is not a hotmail address) that works. When I try to recover my password Microsoft tells me that because my email account is not a hotmail account they can not send me my
reset info. I have been trying to get my password reset for a month and a half. It's funny how you can reset your bank account password, your email password, and your billing password without issue, but something like a gaming profile password reset takes
an act of god and apparently Microsoft is not god.

you should be able to reset the password on the blueyonder website for the email address, once that is done logon to accounts.live.com and reset the password for the windows live id, this will send a password reset email to the blueyonder email address

I can't access the email that is associated with the gamertag. I have the ganertag and email but i cant access the email. I want to change the email so I can reset the password. So any attempt to send a reset password to the email that I cant get into
wont work. Or maybe I'm not understanding which is why I would love to speak with someone. Thanks again.
