Why was the keyboard on xbox for minecraft changed, it makes doing commands for building...

As an Xbox One Player who constantly builds on Minecraft Bedrock. I don’t like the onscreen-keyboard it makes it harder to type and also slower to build. Please change this or make this toggleable I genuinely dislike it.

As a map building/commander this new keyboard/chat change is really inconvenient. I find myself deleting a bunch of commands by accident. I no longer get to type commands very fast since I don’t have the shift option available. It’s very annoying and I think ima take a break from Minecraft until this issue has been resolved. I hope this issues is fixed so we can go back to enjoying the game without such unnecessary difficulties.

Been wondering the same thing. I try to type in commands on the command block in Minecraft and it is painfully slow on the controller compared to the computers keyboard and you can copy and past it making it 100x easier!

yea thanks Georges but I tried the old Xbox Companion app and that doesn't work anymore. As a matter of fact that app was completely Discontinued months ago so telling people to use that app is absolute misinformation. The long and short of it is that something changed with either Xbox or Minecraft simply because this never happened before. The Physical keyboard would override the onscreen keyboard, allowing you to directly interact with the Minecraft chat window where you can place creative commands for example. Being able to type in the Minecraft game engine and not Xbox's onscreen keyboard made entering commands simple and able to use the auto-fill feature. This change absolutely ruins that as regardless of what you do the onscreen keyboard just shows up if a physical keyboard is connected or not. I'm assuming that it's an Xbox issue since there was an update around the time we noticed that it was no longer working as intended. I'm trying to get it across to Microsoft that This needs to be fixed, this is a bug, there is no doubt in my mind that it's not. it worked fine for years this way before this update and now it doesn't. the reason I'm so aggravated is that Minecraft is the only game my wife plays (95% of the time) she has been working on multiple servers for literal years, making friends, and creating a world that her friends can play in like we were in a tabletop role-playing game and she is the Game Master. Without the ability to use the in-game chat, it makes it almost impossible for her to do anything with command blocks among other things. She's very depressed over this and I just want to help. so any advice beyond, Using an app that no longer functions would be great.

This is a major issue for creators and needs to be resolved ASAP.

As somebody who uses a lot of commands and sometimes relies on the on-screen help for building commands it's very disruptive to my flow. I have trouble stringing thoughts together a lot so this getting in the way of my goals in game is another unnecessary challenge I have to put myself through on every command I type. Using m&k to build this current issue is 'fiddly' due to; typing the command, looking for errors, entering the on-screen keyboard to correct any errors, having to correct said errors, pressing enter to confirm changes and then going to the bottom right enter button on the chat bar and manually clicking it. It is a lot of work to type in one playsound command or clone command.

Please make this QoL change as soon as possible its incredibly inconvenient.
