Why was I banned after 1 offense?

I made my picture a bit questionable but it was my first time and i didn't know any better and then got hit with a perma ban after my first offense i get i changed by picture to someone bad but that doesnt mean i should get a perma ban now i lost pretty much all my friends and i only have the ones i know but i would like to be unbanned since it really should have been at least a month or something like that or banned from making my own gamer pics/changing them i mean i really understand why people don't like xbox now and why some people stay with playstation or why people just dont even give any attention to xbox.

I'm really sorry that you are going through a ban on your Xbox account, keep in mind that this is a Microsoft public forum where we are all players like you who are trying to help other players but with basic problems, the team in charge of handling suspensions/bans is Through the Enforcement page it is the only option that can help you since there you can see your situation and file an appeal.

I would like to offer you a little more help but as I mentioned before I'm just a gamer like you and that means I'm not on PlayStation therefore it can't lift your suspension the most I can do is guide you towards a solution.

I understand why offensive gamertags are not allowed but "A 1" doesn't really fit an any offensive

category so im just guessing the previous owner was once banned and inturn made the username not useable.

Be more careful next time.

The length of the ban depends on the number of offense you committed

1)First offense is a 24 hrs ban.

2)Second offense is a Week ban.

3)Third may be a permanent ban from the game

Enforcements aren't always at the same time as the offense...some offenses warrant further investigation so the Enforcement could be weeks after the actual offense, hence why it looks like you were banned whilst suspended

This is what will be the end of Xbox is all these bans a first offense and I have to wait 4 DAYS to get back on with my buddies? You tell me that's not at least a little overkill. I have never received a ban until now so why couldn't they do 14 hours? I know Xbox is capable of doing that because I read another Ambassador's post about bans already. So why didn't they start with a 14 hour ban since it's my first offense?
