Why was a refund issued then undone?

I requested a refund for a game which I received because it showed up in my bank statement, after a few hours the refund was taken back and I never received the money and I can’t access the game I refunded. Why didn’t I receive my refund and is there something I can do?

Hi Leapyfrogfie, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Once the refund has been approved and already stated as "refunded" on your order history (https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders), it will now depend on your bank on when they will credit back the money but it usually takes 5-7 business days.

If the money has been taken out again and the status of the transaction on your end is still "refunded", you may need to reach out to your bank to have them validate.

If you play wired, then why do you unplug the controller to begin with. I never had a USB plug come undone when I play with the controller plugged in.

I was informed with this already and it’s not really useful.

How is there a whole department no one is able to contact and also if something is done it can be undone otherwise why have an appeal process?

Hello Undone,

Sorry for the issue with the game. Did you get with support and have an open case with them? In cases like this it takes time as they need to figure out why it revoked the license. So it doesn't happen to you in the future, and/or happen to others. If you
do have a case with support follow up with them in the emails.

There has been issues with the refund software, hence why your refund has not come through yet. Refunds will be given once the issues have been fixed.
