Why only party chat can go through TV speakers?

So i can't wear a headset for long periods of time, thus i only use party chat with friends (where i can talk through the mic, but have their voice come through my TV)

..why is this only available in party chat? why can xbox not implement a universal option for game chat to go through TV speakers if you want? i can only think of 1 game i'm able to play socially and chat with randos; sea of thieves, because they have an in-game option for that.

I don't understand. xbox talks about inclusion and stuff.. yet this seems such a simple thing to do.. is there something that stops them from being able to this for game chat?

    :)

Why only party chat can go through TV speakers?

    Hello MeridianWolf,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

You asked why only party chat can go through TV speakers and not game audio. There are some possible solutions that you can try.

First, make sure that your TV speakers are set as the default audio output device in your Xbox settings. To do this, go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Speaker audio and select HDMI audio as Stereo uncompressed. This should allow both party chat and game audio to go through your TV speakers.

Second, if the first step does not work, you may need to adjust the chat mixer settings in your Xbox settings. To do this, go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Chat mixer and choose one of the options that suits your preference. For example, you can choose Do nothing, which will keep the game and chat audio balanced, or Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%, which will make the chat audio louder than the game audio.

Third, if none of the above steps work, you may have a problem with your HDMI cable or your TV speakers. Try using a different HDMI cable or a different TV to see if the issue persists. If it does, you may need to contact Xbox Live support for further assistance.

    Hi MeridianWolf,

The chat output settings allow you to choose how you want to hear the party chat audio from other players in your party. You can select one of the following options: headset, headset and speakers, or speakers. This setting only applies to party chat, not to in-game chat.

The in-game chat audio is controlled by the game developers, not by Xbox. Some games may have options to adjust the chat output settings within the game, but this is not a feature that Xbox can provide for all games. If your headset is plugged in, the in-game chat audio will automatically go to your headset, unless the game has a different option.

    Not game audio, game chat.

In settings, Xbox has an option to make party chat output go through your headset, headset and TV, or TV.

but that's only for party chat. i've always wondered why xbox can't do the same for in-game chat too?

With in game chat, if your headset is plugged in; game chat automatically goes to the headset, with no option to have it output through TV.

really sucks when you can't wear headsets, you can't play socially outside of parties. (in party chat; i use my headset mic, but have their voice output through my TV. game chat has no option to do this, you must wear your headset to hear teammates)

Gravar Áudio do Grupo (Record Group Audio)

If you're in party chat, you can set your chat audio to come through both the headset and the tv speakers. Then the recording device you use will pick up the party chat. This is only the case if you're using a capture card.
