    Why Microsoft isn't able to release a decent PC Xbox app?


    Every now and then, about once per year/year and a half, I decide to give a look to games on gamepass, and every time I'm astonished from how bad the Xbox PC app is.

    Every other launcher has its pros and cons, but Xbox app is different.

    It's just bad, and it seems to be proud of it.

    I seriously think Microsoft is like "we give you many good games for cheap on Gamepass, you can't also have a good app".

    They should submit a Guinness nomination for longest running app "baddity".

    My recent experience: the historical obtusity of files limitation, which is already a very annoying feature, not only for modding, but also if you use some programs like Logitech GHub or AMD Adrenalin to apply individual settings for every game.

    But there are also some new additions.

    I installed Outer Wilds and Tunic, and everything went relatively fine.

    Then I installed As Dusk Falls, and sh...ehm...bad things happened.

    The game completed the installation way earlier than it should have done. The folder size was way smaller than what the app showed. I discovered, inside the game, that it has some optional downloads, like language packs and hd textures, and this explains the different size. Obviously, Xbox app shows only the complete installation size, and you can select what dlcs to install only inside the game. You can't just have a window to select dlc to install, outside the game, like on Steam.

    I installed HD pack and now the game launches, but is stuck on main screen, without even showing menu.



    And this is my last bad experience with Xbox app. I want to be clear: in all these years, I changed hardware and os. The only thing is not changed, is the Xbox app quality.



    Sorry for the long post. I hope it doesn't feel just like the usual whining post.

    FNAF Sister Location not on Xbox for PC?

    I ended up being able to fix this by downloading it from Microsoft Store, still not sure why it's not on Xbox App for PC.

    Whys is the Xbox (Beta) Windows 10 app SO BAD

    There isn't a "non" beta version if he's talking about the PC app, and there is no way to leave feedback; the app is a buggy mess. I immediately disengaged from it, & ended my trial. They shouldn't have put out a trial (that they charge $ for) with it
    in that state; they have testing communities that are supposed to work as a better metric for release than this is. It's embarrassing that the company that literally developed your PC's operating system, can't build a decent game store/app, when Epic came
    out of Nowhere & implemented a damn good store in a matter of months.

    id drop a 600-800 on a new console, rather than a new pc, because if you want a decent custom build pc you will easily drop 1500+.

    why do we need a new xbox anyway, isn't the new slim holding up just fine?

    There is no "preloading" on the Xbox 360 at the current point in time. The game will be available for digital release sometime on November 5th. You'll need to wait until it's released to the marketplace and available in all countries.

    This isn't PC, and this isn't PS3, things work differently on different platforms. Microsoft doesn't have any sort of preload system in place like PS3 and PC (STEAM) where they encrypt the files and then download a certain extra file to run the game. It doesn't
    exist yet, but it will on the next gen platform. They haven't said anything about the Xbox 360 in regards to that.

    You'll be able to preorder on the Xbox One and all of that, information on that just hasn't been released quite yet.

    No, there isn't an Amazon music app for the Xbox One. You should contact Amazon, see if they have any plans to release one. The only app available from the Microsoft store is for Windows 10.
