Why Kinect games cannot be played while using the companion app?

I've been searching if there's some setting that I need to change but I actually never found a single post talking about why Kinect games can't be played while streaming the screen using the companion app! Can someone explain?

Ps. Before someone asks, yes I do use the Kinect!

I may be wrong, but maybe since they are kinect games that option is not available since you'll have to play in front of your xbox.

For starters, the combined lag would be nearly unplayable. The PC based Kinect doesnt work with the streaming app. Kinect requires a great deal of precision, timing , and fine tuning to work.

as a Kinect fan myself, don’t expect support to do anything but continue to be reduced.

he is on about using kinect and kinect games via xbox companion app, how did you get from that to streaming online.

Hi Samy,

I'm logged in correctly to the Xbox Console Companion. I can actually launch my games from there and play games as expected. However, when I launch the Xbox App from the Xbox Console Companion I am still not logged in to the Xbox App and cannot install new games or play games from the Xbox App.

xbox companion app is a legacy app from early windows 10, they are moving things over to the xbox app and the companion app will be discontinued eventually. you don't really have any reason to use the companion app now, which is why it does not come preinstalled on windows 11. game clips uploaded to xbox live should be visible from the gamebar.
