Why isn't the Privacy online settings not working on the Xbox website?

We understand that you need help accessing the Privacy online settings for you to enable the option for adding a friends on your Xbox account. We truly understand how important is this to be able to add friends on Xbox account.

Maybe the reason why it won't stop redirecting you because it might be you're using a child account. For you to be able to access the Privacy online settings you must need to join a family group so that the Adult or Organizer of the Family group will be the one who will manage the privacy and online safety of your account.

An organizer in an Xbox family group can manage settings for members who are in the family group. Kids can only see (and not manage) their own settings. Learn more: Manage Xbox online safety and privacy settings | Xbox Support




If you are still not part of family group, you may need to look for an Adult account that can invite you or create a family group with you. So, that the Adult account will be the one who will manage your privacy and online safety.

The website doesn't allow me to access the privacy page. It keeps redirecting me to this page: Why can’t I change my privacy settings? | Xbox Support

I even removed myself from the family group and got a confirming email.

I'm afraid this isn't a Microsoft issue guys, Xbox Ricky 360 is right. This is an issue with the privacy and online safety settings for Xbox One. For most of you guys dealing with child accounts on xbox, you need to check your Privacy settings for Xbox by
going to "Xbox settings" and then "Privacy Settings" on the website, you'll need to verify yourself before getting to the privacy settings. Once your there then you need to check the "Communicate with voice and text" setting and make sure to set it to everybody.
In order to change these settings you'll need to sign in as the parent account, your "parent account" is the Microsoft account you created when setting up your kids profile if their under the age of 18. My friend was having the issue and when I saw Xbox Ricky
360's reply I immediately had him check the settings from the website and it worked so I give the credit to him.
