    Why isn't my xBox 360 controller working in windows 11?


    After plugin it in the driver seems to be installed and I can see xBox 360 Peripherals and my Controller via Plug & Charge Kit in my Device Manager but once in a game or trying websites like gamepad tester it doesn't work at all. Im at my wits

    Xbox 360 wired controller not functioning properly on my windows 11

    I've updated the driver and used this controller on other PCs with windows 11 and the problem still persists.

    If your controller isn't working on other PC running Windows 11 it tells me something is wrong with your controller.

    There aren't any compatibility issues with older Xbox 360 controllers and Windows 11. I've just tried my old Xbox 360 wired controller in my brand new Windows 11 based PC and it works fine. The fact that it isn't working now is likely coincidental.

    Your controller isn't a wired controller. Unlike the Xbox One and Series X|S controllers, the Xbox 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. Hence why the second part (circled) refers to using an Xbox gaming receiver with an Xbox 360 wireless controller.

    Note that the 'Gaming receiver' must be an Xbox 360 receiver. The newer Xbox One wireless receivers are not compatible with Xbox 360 wireless controllers.

    The cable for the plug and charge kit is strictly for charging, it does not transmit any data. You will need an Xbox 360 wireless adapter to use the controller with your PC.
