Why isn't it possible to buy a Microsoft Xbox One power supply unit?

    Hi,

I have an Xbox one with a PSU that finally gave up the ghost recently. The Xbox is out of warranty, which is fine, but I still want to get a proper MS replacement PSU as I've heard bad things about some of the third party PSUs that you can pick up online.

I can't seem to find an option to buy one anywhere and when I called Xbox support they first told me that I could get one from the Xbox accessories online store. Once I actually searched the store with the support person still on the call, they then told
me that I actually couldn't buy one at all and, because the warranty was expired, there was nothing I could do.

This all seems faintly ridiculous. Why won't Microsoft sell a part for a console unless it's still under warranty?

    :)

Because they don't want people hanging onto their Xbox One, they would ideally want you to purchase a One S or One X instead of the power supply ;) which is obsolete now as the new consoles have internal supplies. I'm sure you'll be able to find some online
through third party sellers, marketplaces, pawn shops etc. That or it's upgrade time if you can afford it.

The original Xbox One production has been stopped a few years ago. You will only get the 3rd party parts now.

Microsoft will only sell parts etc to official licenced repairers unfortunatly.

Best is to see if the Microsoft repair centre will be able to assist you or a licenced repairer.

Try looking on wish.com they should have it the one thing bout wish is that it takes a while longer as orders are shipped straight from china i couldnt find any or maybe i was impatient so settled for xbox 360 power pack with xbox one adapter cord and
seems to do the job just as good .

the problem is that it's already discontinued, I also have that model so I understand you, I think it's best to look for one on amazon that has the best reviews and hope the best, I agree MS should keep selling the original xbox one parts at least until
what and the new xbox arrives
