Why is there no way to speak with an actual person to recover an account?

Yeah, there's no option to do that anywhere, believe me. I've tried this several times at this point to no avail. It keeps saying phone calls and chats aren't available for this issue, but I desperately need to talk to an agent about this because I've had this account for years and I don't want to make a new one.

As mentioned in your other threads, you would need to contact support through http://support.xbox.com/contact-us You would need to request a call back instead of going through a chat option.

Change the category/topic until it gives you the option.

You would gave to go to http://support.xbox.com/contact-us and request a call back or chat with support.

Alternatively, if you're both using the same console, you can set it as your Home and share it with the other person. https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox
