Why is the 'play' button greyed out on Xbox Cloud Gaming

I've tried it on both mine and my husband's accounts, on about 8 different devices in total. All games on all devices and all accounts, the 'play' button is greyed out.

same for me but only fortnite not greyed but when i click on it i get the rocket ship for 20 secs then a message saying disconnected from game (i have game pass it expires next month}

Seems to be a widespread issue at the moment, most likely an outage which has not yet been noted by MS:

Hey! There is currently an outage affecting Xbox Cloud Gaming. You may have trouble starting cloud games or be unexpectedly disconnected from a game after it begins. This is currently being investigated.

This issue has been happening to me on and off all week and it's really getting annoying. Can only play games in the "jump back in" category.

I had this issue until I disabled adblocker for the game pass app.
