Why is the latest Xbox update trash?

If this is true, it's the wrong strategy.

Forcing people to do anything they don't want to, causes rebellion.

I see more and more posts by gamers wishing to leave Xbox for PC or PS because THEIR Home page is overwhelmed with non-removable Advertising for Game Pass and other apps.

Those with slow, capped or poor internet service are more likely to buy physical discs for games, not download digital games to a Microsoft account which if it gets permanently banned, loses all access to any digital game that's been purchased.

Microsoft / Xbox need to re-consider their decision to invade MY personal space (Home page) with advertising and restore the functional, customisable console it was previously, so I can tailor the console Home screen to MY needs, not a corporations accountants' wish list.

I could tell from the very first insider revision that it was just going to be a wall of ads, despite them saying "this is only one of several different designs we'll be testing!", which turned out not to be true.

The feedback from insiders was overwhelmingly negative throughout the testing phase, so it was obvious they had already decided what they were going to do from the very beginning and feedback wasn't going to change that, other than making the top row of tiles smaller.
