    Why is the internet speed throttled on the Series S and X?


    I have 1g internet, so I should be getting at least half of that, but for some reason my Series S only gets about 30mbps and 80mbps on a good day. Every other device I have gets 250mbps to 500mbps. It seems obvious that the Xbox is not taking full advantage of high speed internet. Its a brand new console, no physical damage and it gets updated every time it needs one. I also live in a small apartment in the city so there should be no reason for it to be this slow.

    Virtually no service will give you 1Gb speeds for giant downloads. Gigabit connections are designed for a family of 4 heavy users. Microsoft limits the bandwidth of users as their servers are shared by all MS services. 250gb/sec will allow you to download most games in under half an hour.

    I also only get around 20 to 30mbps on my S and almost every online game I play is laggy inthink your services are behind or youre limiting our speed too much. My playstation never had these issues.

    It's likely that your ISP is throttling speeds to Xbox Live. I experience the same issue with my internet as well. It's quite frustrating.

    Game Download speed

    I can't say for certain either but I don't think the Xbox one x is capped at 250mb/s. Just spoke with a friend who has very high speed internet (mine is unfortunately slower than this), and he says his can run at well over 300mb/s.

    It's possible it is being throttled by your ISP or possibly to do with the settings on your hub
