    Why is my Xbox party chat audio quiet


    I’ve never had audio issues with my Xbox app but after the recent update to the Xbox app I’ve been experiencing audio issues.

    I play on PC-Gaming laptop

    Within party chat individual people are very quiet

    Things I have tried already:

    1. Repairing app and restarting laptop

    2. unplugging and replugging headset back in and rejoining party

    3. Making sure the app recognizes my headset is set to default. I use the Razer Krazen V3 wired

    4. Updating headset firmware

    5. Adjusting mixer and turning off noise suppression

    6. Adjusting individual volume slider on people in party chat

    None of these things have worked and everyone that joins my parties or whether I join theirs is super quiet and I’m running out of ideas to fix it. I cannot hear them unless I turn my in game volume off and asking everyone to switch to game chat or discord isn’t ideal for everyone.

    Party Chat is to loud, even on lowest setting.

    Hi There,

    On your party chat mixer, move it towards the 'game' audio. You can manipulate it till it's mouse quiet. If still too loud - if you have a manual control on your headset, toggle that.

    Yet most game servers are completely quiet because everybody is *** off somewhere in some party. Take party chat away and the *** talkers become a vast minority. Why is it not like this on PSN? Why is it only happening on a "Premium" service?

    You Should go to your Audio Options and than check your Audio Settings! Maybe you Chat Audio is set to Quiet!

    Unfortunately no, but I got a taste of that Friday or Saturday night. But it got so late and the games got boring. He justed kinda went quiet and went to bed.

    If your active game or app becomes quiet or inaudible when you're using Kinect in party chat or on a Skype call, your Chat mixer may be set to focus only on the conversation. To adjust the level of sound while communicating, adjust
    the Chat mixer settings:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then select System > Settings.
    2. Select Display & sound > Volume.
    3. Select Chat mixer, the choose one of the options.
