Why is my Xbox one telling me to update consoles location?

Generally, that message appears only when the Microsoft Rewards app is not available in a region, but as far as I can see, it is available in the United Kingdom, and you should be able to open it.

If your console region is set to the United Kingdom, then please check that your Microsoft account region is also properly configured using the following link:

https://account.microsoft.com/profile

If the issue persists, please try the following procedure:

1. Uninstall the Microsoft Rewards app.

2. With the Xbox turned on, press the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds until it completely shuts down.

3. Disconnect the power cable from the console and wait for 30 seconds.

4. Reconnect the power cable to your console and turn it on as usual.

5. Reinstall the Microsoft Rewards app and check if the problem persists.

If you are using any router-based VPN, disable it.

- Go to Settings > System > Language & Location
- Change your location to a different country
- Restart your console.
- Go back to Settings > System > Language & Location
- Change your location back to the country you are currently living in.
- Restart your console again.
- Try launching the rewards app.

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.
- Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes.
- Power off your modem/router and unplug it for a few minutes.
- Plug everything back together and turn your console on.
- Check if the issues persist.

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety> App Privacy > Location > Location On.

Although this is one I haven't had to use myself, I've seen some users report that enabling this setting has helped with this problem.

If none of the previous steps have worked, could you connect your console to a different network, restart your console, and then launch the Rewards app? Please note that even a phone's hotspot would work for testing purposes.

I'm unable to access the rewards app as I get a message telling me to update my consoles location. I've checked my system settings and it's correct to my location that being the UK.

Location problem
