My console is ruining all my games and movies. I opened a new anime, and after the first watch, it was covered is scratches. All of my naruto discs are ruined, which cost me a lot of money. The controllers are garbage. I'm literally about to take a sledgehammer to my console and controllers. If I had known this was how it was going to be, I would have just went with Playstation.

    :)

Why is my Xbox one scratching all my discs?

I understand that any kind of console or player can do this, I've just never had any of mine do it. I religiously check all my discs before and after to check for that kind of stuff, so when I opened a new movie, and seen what this console did, I was shocked bc I've never had anything do that before. I still have my dvd player from when they first came out, and it doesn't even scratch my dvds. I've only ever had issues with my Xbox one console. Thank you for your reply.

Why is my Xbox one scratching all my discs?

I'm sorry this has happened to you, but discs being scratched is not an issue solely associated with Xbox consoles. Any console or DVD/Blu-ray player can have this fault.

What has likely happened is either the laser diode itself or some other foreign object has become attached to the diode and has scratched the discs when the drive was spinning. A normal working drive does not physically touch a spinning disc.

As for your discs themselves, there are things you can do to try to salvage them. Minor scratches can sometimes be buffed out with a soft cloth and a mild cleaning solution. However, deeper scratches may require more specialised tools and techniques

One common method is to use a disc repair kit. These kits typically include a polishing compound and a soft cloth. The polishing compound is applied to the disc and then buffed in a circular motion. This helps to fill in the scratches and make the disc more reflective.

Another possible method that can be used to repair scratched Blu-ray or DVD discs is to use a disc resurfacer. Disc resurfacers are machines that use a rotating abrasive wheel to remove a thin layer of material from the disc. This can help to remove scratches and make the disc more playable. How successful they are depends on how badly your discs/s are scratched.

Warning: Putting a disc through such a device more than once can render a disc completely unplayable, as too much material would be removed.

The option would be to look around for a oppressional to try to clean your discs.

Whatever you do, do not put any more discs into this console. It will need to be repaired or replaced now.

Those who choose physical discs - I have a question for you

If you scratch disc's that badly... Or lose them... There's bigger issues as to why.

I've never scratched or lost a disc in all my years of gaming.

    Just sayin.

    Buying a new 360 Slim

4GB isn't enough to hold anything but system updates and app storage. How big is your old one?
Why would you buy a new Xbox? The Xbox still gnaws on discs -- YUP, tis ture. Have you ever wondered... Why the (*^(% did my disc get scratched -- Must have been those gremlins. Well, the truth is that as the Xbox gets warmer and warmer... The disc gets
warmer as well... This makes the disc easy to scratch, so as the Disc is read, it starts obtaining millions of little scratches... Making the disc not work no more and you VERY angry .
I'm thinking two things. First, I have put many hours into playing many different games on the 360. The only games I have with scratches or scuffs are the ones I've purchased used. And they ALL work. Second, if you've had personal experience with
this, then why do you still actively play a 360 and post on the forums?

    New Game Case Problem
I've had 4 Xbox's and none have scratched any discs. No cases have scratched any of the discs either. It all comes down to how you remove the disc and place the disc in the case.

As far as the Xbox goes, don't place it on end. Lay it flat so the disc will sit securely in the tray.

Disc's can be unbalanced from manufacture. My Skyrim disc is like this, it isn't scratched but it hum's loudly when playing.

Just take extra care when handling the disc. It's all you can do.
I've also had four Xbox 360 consoles, and my second one did some minor disc scratching. Just because something hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it can't happen.
