Why is my xbox one s 1080p and 720p resolutions working

Hi, on my xbox one s the 1080p resolution won't work at all, and I try to change it to 720p it works for a little bit but there is no sound then it stops working. The resolution is stuck on 640×480, and the hdmi cable is fine. Is the problem the hdmi port on my xbox?

The One S, as far as I'm aware, only supports resolutions 4K, 1080p, and 720p. So yes, it will work, but the only setting you'll be able to use is the 720p one. Though at 19 inches, that's probably sufficient.

1360x768 is 720p, you're upscaling it to 1080p on a 720p output TV, that's why it's looking horrible. In order to get a 1080p resolution looking good, you need a TV that has a native resolution of 1080p.

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

To try to narrow down the problem, if you have the opportunity, try a different HDMI cable, a different port on your TV, and also try connecting the console to a different TV/monitor.

Additionally, follow these steps: Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings.

Under General, select TV & display options.

Video Fidelity & Overscan > Overrides

There, make sure "Auto-detect" is selected.

By "beamer", do you mean a projector? What is the model number of your projector?

What is also the resolution you are running your Xbox at? 720p? 1080p? 4K (if an Xbox One S)?
