Why is my xbox doing this?

Everything was normal on my xbox until today where my xbox was super laggy and it didn’t load the guide , then I decided to restart my xbox and that might fix the problem. But when i did that when i tried to connect my xbox to my tv, it would just be a grey screen until a couple more attempts and then it put me on the screen that is like getting a new xbox, I was confused but I didn’t think that much of it, I logged into my account and it showed the pop ups that would usually pop up when you get a new xbox, I didn’t really thing that much of that either, i checked and i had all of my games, but when i tried to play one it would say i need to install the game or app for this. When i tried to download the game other than the add-ons (which downloaded perfectly fine) it would constantly continue to say installation stopped and it wouldn’t download. After that I decided to restart my xbox and maybe that would fix the problem but now instead of letting me have an option to download my games, it would just say i need to install the game or app for this. I know it’s a lot but I really need help with this.

well if you look at the video i have in my last post it stays like this and doesnt go back to 1080p after a few seconds this last time would be the 4th time it has done it and stayed.

but yes to answer your question. going to have a little chat with xbox tomorrow as well to see what the cause could be.

I tried the second one but its putting me on a screen saying restart this xbox and troubleshoot when i restart my xbox it doesnt do anything but when i click troubleshoot it says to reset my xbox but i will lose all of my accounts, saved games, settings, home xbox associations, and installed games and apps, but i dont want to lose everything... What do i do?

i have my X1 set to HDMI auto. I did experiment with just the HDMI setting and it did what yours is doing so i put it back to auto detect. No problem except sometime for a split second on bootup from standby.

@Saber yes its i have it set to instant on

@Rippen just did the same thing and the xbox kept refreshing the screen so went back to auto as well

@pronto ive notice mine is doing this also only for a few seconds. Like a youtube video waiting for HD to hit yeah?
