Why is my Series X having audio issues?

It will play audio through netflix, but not hulu. It plays audio for Arkham Knight, but not fortnite. If I plug my headset in, i hear perfectly fine, every sound for every app. I unplug the headset and back to nothing. No sounds when I'm browsing my apps. THen i open arkham knight and the sound works perfectly.

I've tried a number of things that haven't helped. Please this is killing me somebody help me out

My sound will also work via headset. Yeah I'm not sure how to go about getting in touch with Microsoft directly. I used to be an Xbox Ambassador and have a direct line but that feels like a lifetime ago now.

Wow you are correct! All it took was holding the power button but it's still happening which is ridiculous. I plugged my ps4 in and everything works fine

Yea this just happened to me last night on my OneX. I get no audio while in the dashboard or on apps like youtube or netflix. The audio came back for games like Infinite and Master Chief Collection. As soon as I closed them the audio went away again. I’ve also tried restarting, using a different hdmi cable and clearing the cache, but nothing. Hopefully there will be a fix.

Unfortunately i tried both of these before making this post and it yielded zero results.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I've got the same issue. Also a Samsung Smart TV with the latest firmware.

However, I've found one bypass: I've a got a wireless headset which does work and gives you audio when connected. So maybe that helps for the time being.

I find it pretty ridiculous that we (or maybe only me) don't get any feedback from Microsoft themselves.
