This is going to be incredibly bias. A mix of questions and criticism. Especially because microsoft support doesnt seem to take being booted off a game by microsoft while youre not online seriously.

Why is my xbox series x a brick with or without the highest speed wifi? Ive owned the console for maybe a year or two. Out of the box my UI was lagging and forums early on were negligently updated regarding internal software and troubleshooting solutions. For the better part of a year my "home console" kicks me off games i OWN while playing offline because "i need a connection to play that game". This in addition to unnaturally long download times for connections my 360 and one have masterfully used for decades. If my experience is anything indicatice of where microsoft is going. Its no consolation prize i can install a game really fast. But without the update to make it run right.

What happened to consoles you plug and play? Im not at all technically inclined to change servers and settings in a console that to me, worked previously just fine until microsoft decided physical or digital ownership was second to streaming services. Im an offline single player and it seems with downloads taking literal years now, case and point with starfield im 3 gigs in 11 days later. Ill be playing starfield by christmas. Next year.

I could list a million little bugs that keep my console on the dashboard instead of opening a game to play. Im too aggravated with the new introduction of internet speed dictating my xbox's processing speed. Imagine minecraft lagging on a super computer next gen gaming console. And youre not online connected to a server and have at most 100 entities in a game, and load 4 chunks away.

Its unfair so i might ask why is my xbox a brick. Does it make sense that i paid close to a thousand for a brick and 2 years of ultimate game pass to be ineligible for use of it outside of limited offline access. Only for my console to work a fractional amount of time? But i still paid the nonfractional cost of a next gen system?

    :)

Why is my series x a brick?

    Hello Mikel Echeverria,

We appreciate you for sharing this with us and welcome to the Xbox Forums.

We understand that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox Series X. I know how you ae feeling right now as this can really be frustrating. I can assure you that we take all customer complaints seriously and strive to provide the best possible solutions. Let's work on this together and sort everything out in timely manner.

Let's start with the home console issue, this happened could be because of the Xbox networks that is being interrupted with particular devices that may sometimes cause network traffic for your device to receive with. We will sort it out.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions to help better understand the concern:

    • Have you tried setting up your console offline and see if the device's UI still having the same issue?
    • Since when was this issue start?
    • How old is your device?

In the meantime, regarding your specific issue, it's difficult to determine the exact cause without more information. However, I would recommend trying some basic troubleshooting steps such as:

    • Resetting your console: I believe we do have the option to keep your games and apps for this step. To do it,
      • Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
      • Go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
      • Select Reset console.
      • Choose whether you want to keep your games and apps or remove everything.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset process.

Note: If you reset your Xbox console while keeping your games and apps, it will remove all accounts and settings from the console, but your games and apps will remain installed. This means that you will need to sign-in to your account again and set up your console preferences. However, your saved games, game data, and installed apps will not be affected by the reset.
To have a better view of this steps, you can visit this link: How to reset your Xbox console to factory defaults

      • Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
      • Select "Profile & system" and then "Settings."
      • Select "System" and then "Storage."
      • Highlight the storage device you want to clear the cache for and press the "..." button on your controller.
      • Select "Clear local saved games" and then "Yes" to confirm.

Note: This will clear the cache for the selected storage device on your Xbox Series X.

      • Choose the option "Keep my console up to date" to enable automatic updates or select "Console update available" to manually check for updates.
      • If an update is available, select "Update now" to start the update process.

Note: Make sure your console is connected to the internet to check for updates.
    • Run your device NAT type: This will matter if your device has a strict, moderate or open NAT type only if you are trying to play the games online and you will be the host for the party. To check:
      • Press Xbox button to open the guide.
      • Select Profile & System > Settings > General > Network settings.
      • Under Current Network Status, the NAT type field displays your current NAT type.
To have a better view of this options and check for each NAT type meaning, kindly open this link: Troubleshoot NAT error and multiplayer game issues

    • Verify your Microsoft accounts Multiplayer set up: To check your Xbox account settings to enable multiplayer, follow these steps:

      • Sign-in to your Xbox account on your console or on the Xbox website.
      • Go to the "Settings" menu.
      • Select "Account" and then "Privacy & online safety."
      • Under "Xbox Live privacy," select "View details & customize."
      • Scroll down to "Communication & multiplayer" and make sure that "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live" is set to "Allow."
      • Also, make sure that "Join multiplayer games" and "You can see and upload community creations" are both set to "Everyone."
Once you have made these changes, you should be able to play multiplayer games on Xbox Live.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please let me know.

In terms of your concerns about internet speed dictating your Xbox's processing speed, it's important to note that online connectivity is required for certain features and games. However, offline play should still be possible for most games.

I understand your frustration with the current state of your console, and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Xbox 360 e power problem

This is more than likely the power brick has failed. Same thing happened to my x360 and the reason I updated to Xbox one X. Time to update to a new console I suggest.

Either the next gen Series S/X models or XBox one S/X.

You won't look back, but will wonder why you didn't update earlier.

Why has my series x stopped reading certain discs again?!

Can I use my North American Xbox Series X in Europe?

    Thanks for the reply!

A lot of what I have found online talks about replacing the power brick for the Xbox One S/X, but the Series X doesn't have a power brick, it's just a power cable. I would assume that I would just replace that then?
