Why is my power brick stuck in orange light

the orange light on the power brick indicates a damaged power brick

Patiently waiting for the orange light on my power brick...

Just to confirm, when the console is off your power brick has an orange light and when on it displays a green light, also the console does not show any red lights on it, it simply switches off reverting the power brick to the orange light?

Found something interesting during my 3.5 hours on chat last night with MS, the constant orange light on the power brick turned off when I unplugged my cable box from the HDMI in port. without that plugged in, the brick has no light at all. If I leave everything
else plugged in except the hdmi in, there is no light at all and no power, if I plug in the hdmi in, the light turns orange again on the brick.

Actually a solid orange light on the power supply means it is working properly and is in standby.

While orange may indicate standby when the unit is powered off, orange when the unit is powered on means the power brick has problems. Recently my girlfriends 360 was powering on with 3 red lights (Fat 360); Nothing would show on the television and the disc
tray would not open. The power brick was orange. Took the console to GameStop and they let me try a different power brick (I only have slim consoles, so using one of mine was out of the question.)...problem solved.

Electronics can sometimes act strange and I do not know why her power brick would not come out of standby. I would still try a different power supply before arranging service.
