Why is my pc crashing when I play online? (due to anti cheat)

I read about the anti-cheat driver causing crashes, and some articles also suggested to set the anti-cheat software's core utilization to a single core. I do that every time I run the game, but to no avail. The PC still crashes.

I'm having a similar issue.

I'm trying to play the Reach campaign in COOP. I'm playing through Gamepass on my PC, and my wife is playing through Steam with her Steam deck. When we enter a co-op game together, we get about 10 seconds in before the game session crashes due to an error of some kind. Happens whether we launch it normally, or with anti-cheat disabled.

We are playing on the same network at home.

Any ideas what the issue could be?

I am sorry to hear that.

I checked and crossplay between PC and console is temporarily disabled due to anti-cheat measures being implemented.

Which may be why the versions differ.

blame activision for not implementing anti cheat like all other crossplay games. console players have extreme aim assist on controllers by default.

i have stopped playing it all together as i play on pc and fed up with console players and there anti recoil controller exploits and rampant cheating.
