    Why is my mic so quiet only in Xbox party chat?


    Problem: My friends say my microphone is too quiet in party chats.

    Details: I’m using the official Xbox wired headset on an Xbox Series X. When I record a voice message of myself the volume is fine, maybe even a little too loud. However, in party chat multiple people have said they can barely hear me and sometimes I get completely ignored because I’m so quiet.

    I’ve tried basically everything I can find on the forums and other sites. Soft resetting console, updating controller, unplugging and plugging the headset back in, adjusting volume settings in the Xbox accessories menu, etc.

    They all have my volume turned all the way up and still complain that I’m quieter than everyone else.

    I’ve had them do that and it’s still an issue. I even tried a new headset now and I’m still quieter than everyone else.

    Xbox doesn't have settings to increase your input, they can turn up your volume and turn down others to make it better, then balance the chat mixer so they have more chat volume in general

    This could be because they have lowered the volume on your profile inside the party, if they click on your options Inside the party they can turn up the volume just for you, this won't affect other party members, and they can also lower the other members to adjust the sound

    Then you should try a different controller and a different headset as that could be a hardware situation
