    Why is my latency on Xbox One so bad?


    I play with a wired connection on my computer and on my Xbox One and whenever I speedtest on my PC, I get around 3-4 ping but when I test "network speed and statistics" on my Xbox, I get around 70-74 ms of latency (my down speed is also a bit slower on Xbox.) Does anyone know how I can problem-solve this issue, any help would be great!

    Thanks for the reply, Okay yes i understand that but why is my latency so high? I cant get into MW2 lobbies because of this as it looks for a latency speed of less than 125ms and is effecting my connection aswell. How do i resolve this. There has to be a
    closer server to me than the one my xbox is picking up? My internet speeds are fine, just my Latency. But why is my xbox not picking up a closer server?

    @Redima269 hey hey

    If You already connected Your Xbox One by wired to router, then You done all on Your side.

    But where You got this number? In Xbox One settings in network test? If so keep in mind, that this not mean, that You have same latency for games. For example my latency in this test 215 ms, but my real latency for Titanfall servers 105 ms.

    If ask why, it's because test servers and game servers are not at the same data center, at least not always. So what exact problem You have, You have high latency in games, that lead to some lags?

    Hi Cheerio,

    76ms latency is not bad at all. That is less than one tenth of a second of latency. Also, a download speed of 47 mbps is great. The recommended download speed for Xbox Live is 3mbps.
