Why is my kinect camera on while playing BF4?

I keep noticing the amera being on when im done a round, is there a reason to this? or ARETHEYWATCHING? lol.

New idea to get rid of hackers.

While I was playing Minecraft, my vision camera turned on. Feeling curious, I went to the video kinect to find I had been connected to a kinect chat. This basically means that the people were WATCHING ME!!!! I was so mad. I would LOVE to be part of your
clan!!!

 

Red lights on Kinect always on

Since I own my Xbox (since launch) I really felt observed by those red lights that are always on at the Kinect unless you are playing a game.

I know that their function is to project those infrared dots for Kinect but since gesture control is gone a long time ago why are they still on? I mean the can see everything a normal camera can see but it's in black and white.

Try it yourself: go to the settings, Kinect and look what Kinect can see. Than cover the main camera lenses and I mean just the camera. As you change to the infrared view you can still see everything clearly.

Those red lights will turn off as soon as you start a game but at apps or the dashboard they are constantly watching you.

So Kinect may not turn on the camera but it is still watching and sees everything that is happening in front of it.

Why is the infrared light always on?

 

They're watching you! It's on because it picks up voice chat.

 

+ Head Tracking and Lean. Kinect is always watching unless set otherwise.

 

thats OK OP, when you're not watching it.....it is stealing your oreos and changing your FB status with bogus updates

 

If you lean, the Kinect makes your character "lean".

 

I just get nekked everytime i sit down to play, kick my feet up wide on a ottoman, if they want to watch me they can look at my junk

But even with the lean and head tracking settings off, the camera still stays on. Why ist that?

 

I drape a cloth over my Kinect so it's always covered.

 

Given the above observation that doesn't seem to be a bad idea all. If only the damn console would let people sign on automatically without this Trojan Horse plugged in!

 

Mine was gone for about a month, and everything worked fine, just unplug it

 

what I cant figure out is WHY do you need Kinect to upload from dvr clips

 

just go to Best Buy and pick one of
these up...it comes with a "privacy cover" that slips on the end of the Kinnect and covers both cameras
